What is Serrapeptase?
Serrapeptase, also known as Serratiopeptidase or Serra enzyme, is a protein-digesting enzyme. It comes from bacteria found in silkworms and helps dissolve their silk cocoons. In supplements, Serrapeptase is extracted from Serratia probiotic bacteria.
HealthAid Serrapeptase 250,000 IU 30 Tablets provides a strong dose of 250,000 IU per tablet. The tablets have an enteric coating, which protects the enzyme from stomach acid. This means it can reach the small intestine, where it can be absorbed. The coating also helps prevent stomach upset. These tablets are suitable for vegans and vegetarians and are easy to take with a simple one-a-day dose.
Recommended Daily Intake
Take one tablet (250,000 IU) daily on an empty stomach or at least 2 hours after eating. If taken with food, the enzyme might be used to digest proteins in the meal. A full course typically lasts 4-6 months and can be repeated after a one-month break. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake unless advised by a healthcare professional.
